Every student is capable and deserves to learn in a safe, stable environment. Due to a wide variety of learners in the classroom, it is important to appeal to all learning styles. Each learning style may not be incorporated every day, but a variety is crucial to adequately teach all students. Whether a student learns best through audible teaching, reading, kinesthetically, or socially, they all deserve the opportunity to learn. As a part of students learning in a safe and stable environment, routines must be established. While every class time may not be structured the same, there are some specific routines that should remain constant from day to day. How the students enter and leave the class is an important routine to help students feel like it is time to start or end class. Expectations for the homework that the students are given and how they are to handle that homework after it is complete is important for them to understand from the beginning. Transitional routines are also important for both students and teachers. While the day to day teaching may look different, if all students know what to do when it is a transitional time, the classroom can be orchestrated much more efficiently. Overall, the teacher always needs to make their stance very clear in how they expect the students to treat each other and the teacher should always model this universal respect to all students.
